Never has so much military and economic and diplomatic power been used so ineffectively. And if after all of this time and all of this sacrifice and all of this support there is still no end in sight, then I say the time has come for the American people to turn to new leadership -- not tied to the mistakes and the policies of the past.
The catchy new tune that's got a whole nation dancing -- to the ballot box -- by Ricky Lee Jones (listen here): Have you had enough of hypocrisy? Have you had enough of the spending spree? Have you had enough? Does it make you want to scream and shout? Have you had enough of the rubber stamps? Have you had enough of the wire taps? If you’ve had enough, then it’s time to throw the rascals out! We’ve let them take the test too long They’ve gotten all the answers wrong No plan, no shame, no oversight Now’s the time to put it right! Have you had enough, cause they’re all corrupt? Have you had enough of being divvied up? If you’ve had enough, then it’s time to throw the rascals out! Well, do what’s right and spread the word It’s time to make our voices heard You cast your vote it don’t cost a dime Sittin’ it out will be a crime I’ve had enough, and it’s time to throw the rascals out!
Vote Democratic in the fall elections!

Fourth year U.S. Air Force Academy cadets are required to memorize the following quotes from John Stuart Mill:
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse." "The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."
Whether you agree or not, it's an interesting lesson in history. Something to think about...
In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
In 1935, China established gun control . From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
In 1938, Germany established gun control. From 1939 to 1945, 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.
In 1956, Cambodia established gun control. From 1975 to 1977, one million 'educated' people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
In 1964, Guatemala established gun control. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
In 1970, Uganda establ ished gun control. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control: 56 million.
It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by their own government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars.
The first year results are now in:
Australia-wide, homicides are up 3.2 percent Australia-wide, assaults are up 8.6 percent Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent!) In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent.
(Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not, and criminals still possess their guns!)
While figures over the pr evious 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since the criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed.
THERE HAS ALSO BEEN A DRAMATIC INCREASE IN BREAK-INS AND ASSAULTS OF THE ELDERLY! Austral ian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in "successfully ridding Australian society of guns." The Australian experience and the other historical facts above prove it.
You won't see this data on the American evening news or hear our president, governors or other politicians disseminating this information.
Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws affect only the law-abiding citizens
Take note my fellow Americans.....before it's too late!
The next time someone talks i n favor of gun control, please remind them of this history lesson.
With guns, we are citizens. Without them, we are subjects.
If you value your freedom, Please spread this anti-gun control message to all of your friends. PLEASE REMEMBER THIS MESSAGE EACH AND EVERY TIME YOU VOTE FOR ANY POLITICAL CANDIDATE IN ANY ELECTION.

Why we are Poor.
I was talking to a friend in Kankakee recently about our respective areas, at some point I mentioned how all the new money from SIDEZ has gotten everyone into a feeding frenzy here in Southern Illinois. He proceeded to tell me that based on population that Kankakee county has more poor and deserves government handouts.
This got me to thinking about what is happening to our money. I am disabled and get a limited amount monthly, its never enough to pay the bills much less enjoy extras like Christmas. But if we are so poor why are all the large Banks moving in and buying up our local banks? Some of the transactions are suspect as well. Why, open an institution in a poor area?
Reading the Southern Illinoisan I came across an article in the Business section that caught my eye. Money exporting. Then it dawned on me why its so hard to get a loan in this area. These big banks aren’t here to service us, they are here as agents to take our money out to larger industrial areas especially high tech, where they can make loans on a bigger scale and satisfy the ego of a couple of crusty old money mongers. “safer” investments they call them such as US Treasuries or “Jumbo CD’s” add to the problem.
The average loan ratio to deposits in the Nation is 80% yet here in Southern Illinois its 55%. Why are we giving 25% of our money to outsiders, my friends that’s ¼ of your money is going out of the area. No wonder we are poor we are paying 25% more taxation (although not governmental) to live here.
Johnson County has taken the first steps toward helping, but its sidez money again, they will commit nothing to the endeavor one and a half million dollars for the industrial park and the revolving fund looks great on paper, but they have funds setting idle (ok they are drawing interest) that could have started this process years ago, the question is why haven’t they. You will hear hey we are getting top interest rates on that money. What 10-12%? In view that 25% of our money is being exported this means that money in the Banks are actually costing us 13-15% because it wasn’t used to provide jobs in this area.
The Southern Illinoisan went on to talk about the Southern Illinois Community Foundation a new way of consolidating our money, reminds me of the highly talked about Southern Illinois Development Fund that was supposed to help us, but suddenly it changed its name to the Cahokia Fund, because there were more people in the East St. Louis area, and of course Big Banks owned by outsiders who could once again siphon off our dollars.
The time has come to stop this ridiculous support of the fat cat money exporters and keep our money here in Southern Illinois. Johnson County has some wealthy individuals who could create a Johnson County Network of investors (Angels as they are called in the investment world), to finance businesses in Johnson County. This first step would go a long way towards creating the bootstraps we need to get started on a road that has been blocked since the depression nearly 8 decades ago.
Why are we poor? Because we don’t work together. Those who consider them elite and of course rich, don’t want to share the wealth which would make them even richer and those who are on the government payroll, (local, state and federal) consider themselves middle class and don’t have the money to waste on hairbrain schemes or consider themselves too poor to invest. (but look at the toys they own). The poor are here because of our indifference to their plight, not as a curse on the rest of us as several seem to think.
Hands of Hope Childrens Charity is but a small example of this neglect, it was torpedoed by the usual Johnson County Politics that couldn’t stand to see someone helping others without compensation, or the Ambulance Service that ran as a volunteer organization and at a profit without taxation of the citizens, but became a pawn in the hands of County Politicians and false charges made against management so they could seize control, which was done and a political hack was appointed to the job of coordinator, with a salary nearly twice as large as the former coordinator and assistant coordinator put together. And then they have the gall to tell us that its losing money. Why? Before the County takeover, they were running 900+ runs a year, now they are lucky to get 600, Why? The paid service gets paid whether they run or not, that’s why. No longer is it a matter of caring for those in need, it’s a source of more toys and as a place to provide more jobs for the Politicians friends.
These are just two examples that we have seen personally in the last few years, two out of how many?
The people of Johnson County and all of Southern Illinois must stand up, take back control of your lives and elect people who will work for us not themselves.
I am not a politician and have no desire to be one, but I am a concerned parent who is trying to raise a family on an average per capita income of $3625 annually, and yet we aren’t considered poor. BS I say, when we see the per capita income avg for many nations that are receiving billions in aid (Russia comes to mind) and which have PCI of twice to five times ours I question the sanity of our leaders.

Five times I have used GoDaddy to search whether a domain name was taken, the first two showed reserved by GoDaddy, so I used another service to check the 3rd name, it was available, so went back to GoDaddy to check on it and lo and behold its reserved by GoDaddy, so I tried two more by going to other sites and checking when I found one available, I would go back to GoDaddy and check and every time, they reserved it, then of course they offer to sell it to me.
Whether this is illegal I don't know, but unethical I do know, and can tell you now, don't fall for their hype about low registration fees and hosting, because at heart they are just another type of conmen who are taking advantage of the Net Public.
