David Broder of the Washington Post said earlier this year: "The campaigns in Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio and Wisconsin will tell us more about the direction of the country and the shape of the 2008 presidential battleground than any of the battles for Capitol Hill."

And yet, we in Southern Illinois are not seeing the necessary support that is required for us to upset the incumbent John ShimKus, Rep in IL-19 Congressional District.

Danny Stover is waging an uphill battle and is gaining ground everyday, we can pull off an upset, but only and I repeat only if the DNC and other national groups will lend more support to his campaign.

IL-19 covers 30 counties in Southern Illinois, the largest geographical district east of the Mississippi River, and representing nearly a third of the 102 counties in Illinois, yet it is being wrote off to the republicans, WHY?

Those of us at www.WeDemocrats.com are doing what we can to turn this around, but we do need your help and support.

Ok, today I stick my neck out. As Executive Director of WeDemocrats.com, I was asked how do I see the election going for the IL-19th Congressional District.

We have done a thorough analysis of the last three elections in the 30 counties involved, not only democrats, but republicans and undecided voters as well.

Our unofficial polling is showing Danny Stover with 41.2% of the vote, John Shimkus the republican incumbent at 46.6% of the vote with 12.4% undecided, this falls short of our original projections that claimed an upset by 4,000 votes. But if the Democrats will get off their butts in the 30 counties in the district and do a little extra we feel that The victory can still be achieved. At this point it looks like Stover 48.6 against Shimkus 51.4%, Anything can happen in the next few weeks.

Lets make things happen.

I spent last two days in meetings with investors in Kansas City area.

Now before I tell you what happened, remember I am disabled and on Social Security, as is my wife, so our combined income is only about $15,000 per year.

Anyway, these three guys called last week and asked for a dinner meeting Saturday at 4 pm in the Crown Center Plaza, they furnished us a room and paid for dinner, I assume to obligate me. They had done their homework, they knew all about USLINX.com and made me an offer they thought I couldn't refuse.

The offer was for 60% of USLINX.com and all divisions (domains), they offered $1,000,000 spread out over a 2 1/2 year period, with $25,000 a quarter for 1st year, $50,000 a quarter for second year, and $100,000 in first quarter of third year, balance then payable at end of second quarter of third year.

Their stipulations were that one I had to stay on, but not as Chair or CEO. President they offered but no responsibility except to think up new ideas. Salary not to exceed 10% of profits, and we had to meet their schedule of sales and profits in each quarter.

I didn't have to think about it, I said NO. But that if they would guarantee me $150,000 a year for 5 years on a management contract, I would do it. They refused.

To make a long story short, we left KC today and drove back home. My wife said I was insane, that we could use the money now, when I tried to explain that it would be in the company and not ours, she clammed up.

Anyway, just had to get this off my chest, because I honestly had to check my sanity, now that I reread the proposal, I not only think I am right, but that these guys are worse than bank robbers, only they used a lawyer and tried to play on what they thought was our weakness. It is of course, but couldn't let them know that.

So tell me what you think, should I have went for it? I would have held 35% of a company that had a value, whereas now I have 23 domains that if I am lucky will generate $10,000 this year (2006), unless something happens to change things.

I was talking to another disabled gentleman who is 4 years younger than I am today, and he was telling me that all he does is watch tv and set around the house, doesn't even do yard work, his wife works so they pay someone to do it.

Naturally I assumed he must be really bad off, when I asked him what was his disability he said he was obese, Duh aren't we all.

I asked him for his email, and he said he had a computer but his wife used it, he didn't even know how to turn it on. This is a waste of a good mind, this man used to be a buyer for K-Mart in Michigan, now he is wasting away, letting his mind go stale.

I tried to explain about my various websites, and active participation in politics, and that I had two heart attacks, cancer, half a lung, and if i could do it he could too. But he said no I am just waiting to die..... I am glad I didn't get his email address, i hate depressing people.

I got a message from Barak Obama, one of our two senators here in Illinois, in it he is asking for us to vote on whom he should support, then going as far as to name four.

While I am sure that these are all worthy candidates, especially since Obama supports them, I am appalled that in the "Candidates for Change" Contest, Danny L. Stover (IL-19) is not listed.

I encourage everyone to go to the link for the contest (http://www.dccc.org/candidate/featured_candidate_vote/), and at the bottom is an Other space in that space put "Danny L. Stover (IL-19)" perhaps we can get him some support to knock off Shimkus.
